Upperstar Restaurant and Bar at Imago Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu Sabah 2018

Hello guys! Gracee here. :) I hope all of you guys are doing fine on this lovely fine day. 

Today, i am going to do a review on Upperstar Restaurant and Bar which located inside Imago Shopping mall. The location of the mall were just located in the heart of the city center of Kota Kinabalu. Upperstar appeals to the masses of KK with its diner-style concept. It is quite affordable , cheerful environment, western food & beer and Internet equipped padded booths (family table). This restaurant serve no pork.. but they served beer and any other alcoholic beverages. There are 3 branches in KK and all of their branches have the same menu, decorations and a great service.

What can i say is that, the location of the mall is very strategic. Whereas only 10 to 15 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to Imago Shopping mall, well might as well also depends on the traffic. Kota Kinabalu nowadays has been quite busy and jammed due to many cars and traffic lights. 😅 Alright, back to our main topic which is a review on Upperstar. Here's a few pictures of this lovely restaurant.

 This is their lunch menu. What can i say is that their menu has a combination menu of ala-carte selections from Eastern to Western food.The price range also affordable and suits with the portion. 

Here's the selection of my most favorite food from the menu... :)

First was the soup. It was the Baked Mushroom Soup RM6.50

Overall : 4.5/5 - Mushroom soup taste creamy and the pastry on top were really crunchy. The price is quite reasonable for a bowl of mushroom soup like this. Because , the portion of the soup quite too many for me. Where i almost feel quite full after eating this group.

Next will be the main course. Well, i have 3 favorite so far. haha

The first main course is... Chicken Chop RM13.95

Overall : 5/5 - What i can say is that the portion is quite big and price is also quite reasonable for the portion. The chicken is coated with bread crumbs and fried to perfection and it is tender on the inside. The chicken chop also served with a few gravy besides mayonnaise. Which we can pick from one of their gravy selections such as mushroom sauce, black pepper sauce, carbonara sauce and their Upperstar special sauce.

The second main course is... Butter Chicken Rice RM6.50

Overall : 5/5 - What i can say that the portion is quite big and price is also quite reasonable for the portion. The butter gravy was quite delicious and creamy. Yet, the chickens size were quite big. As whenever i order this, i only manage to half of it. Overall, it is a very satisfying meal. hehe

The third main course is... Lalapan delight RM6.50

Overall : 5/5 - what i can say is the same as the other two main course that i reviewed just now. Which the portion is quite big and price is also quite reasonable for the portion. The main highlight of the dish here is the "sambal". It was quite spicy and really-really appetizing. The meal consist of chicken and fish. Yet, the chickens and fish size were quite big and the quantity is a lot too. Same as the Butter Chicken rice, i only manage to eat half of it. Overall, it is very satisfying meal. hehe

The last but not least was the dessert... It is a Chocolate Cake Rm5.95

Overall : 5/5 - This dessert has always been my favorite. The taste of the chocolate cake is very moist, light texture and taste quite refreshing. I can really eat this again and again. haha Well, what can i say no matter how full you are, there is always room for desserts. :)

This is the inside look of the restaurant during the day. Where the restaurant have quite an edgy and vintage look.

This is the inside look of the restaurant during the night. Where at night, the restaurant lighting's were dimmed and the dimmed and the chandelier which create quite a romantic and relaxing atmosphere inside the restaurant. Plus, the music that they played in the restaurant is like R&B, Pop musics.

There were Computers at each family tables. Where the seat is quite longer and spacious tables among other tables. It has an internet connection and it is for their children's to watch any cartoon or movie they like. Not even the children's is enjoying watching and even the adults is watching as well.

There's even more to this restaurant where they can throw a surprise birthday celebrations. Where they will play the "Happy Birthday" song in the restaurant and all the staff will sing along to the music and as well as other customers also joins in to celebrate and sing the birthday song. It's quite fun though.

I really am highly recommended you guys to try out this place.. Upperstar is a great place to eat, hangout and chill with your friends and family. What is also amazing is that all group of ages came to eat here such as kids, teenagers, adults, elderly. People who are working also came here to get their lunch or dinner as well as the students also came here to eat and hangout with their friends.

Well i am certainly cannot wait to go back to Sabah and to dine in again at Upperstar. :)
